WASHINGTON – The Rhode Island Avenue NE Main Street Program will still hold its annual Fall Fest, despite Saturday’s weather forecast. The fourth annual Fall Fest will happen on Saturday from 10am-4pm, now indoors at 705 Edgewood Street NE. The location is just a short walk from the Rhode Island Avenue metro and has ample parking at multiple adjacent parking lots.
“This quick shift is a true testament to the great businesses and neighbors we have up in Northeast DC,” shared Main Street Executive Director Kyle Todd. “When the weather forecast began to threaten our outdoor Fall Fest, one of the amazing properties available near Rhode Island Avenue was offered to us for an indoor venue.”
The property owners, 705 Edgewood, LLC, are working with real estate agency, Menkiti Group, to lease its 25,000+ square foot property. However, when they heard of Fall Fest potentially having to cancel the event, they and Menkiti suggested using the space. The Rhode Island Avenue Shopping Center, connected to the venue, is making its parking lot available for festival guests.
This year’s Fall Fest will include more than 40 local businesses and nonprofits and a packed entertainment agenda with a dozen music and dance performers. The Fall Fest includes some new additions and activities including a classic car show and a dog contest.
Sponsors of the 2015 Fall Fest include:
