Ready for some caffeine-infused happiness?
FoRIA is excited to welcome Zeke’s Coffee of DC to their future home at 2300 RIA-NE!
The small batch roastery is a favorite at many farmers markets and retailers across the region. Owner and DC resident, John Kepner, says they will be roasting and serving a wide selection of coffees at the in-house “coffee lab.” And yes, outdoor seating is in the plans!
A summer grand opening is in the works so stay tuned. Also, be sure to check out their website – www.zekescoffeedc.com – to see some of their coffee selections, plus a rendering of their facade plans.

Based on the recent spate of new retail and dining services coming to the area, Urban Turf once again covers Rhode Island Avenue NE in a new article released today. Check out the good things headed our way!
“Bicycles, Bakeries and Restaurants Fill Up Rhode Island Avenue’s Retail Strip”
On Wednesday, July 25, FoRIA held our first “Rhode Trip” — where we turn up at a business we’d like to attract to Rhode Island Avenue NE in big numbers to show them that there is demand for their business on RIA. UrbanTurf was there to cover the event:
Last Wednesday at 5:30pm, 15 residents of DC’s Woodridge neighborhood entered the Bloomingdale bar Boundary Stone wearing t-shirts that read “Friends of Rhode Island Avenue.” They chatted with the bartenders, spent money, and left calling cards that said “If you build it, we will come.”
The purpose? Convincing the owner to open up shop in Woodridge, which has a dusty commercial strip a couple miles away on Rhode Island Avenue.
Thanks to all who came out to Boundary Stone and be on the look out for our next Rhode Trip…. coming soon!
